INFORMATION ABOUT ALIBAUG

Alibag or Alibaug is a coastal town in the Konkan region of Maharashtra, India. It is headquarters of the Raigad district. Since Alibaug is just 3hrs drive from both Pune and Mumbai and due its accessbility, Alibaug is a popular weekend getaway for the citizens of both the cities. It is also a popular center for business conferences during rest of the week. Alibaug is famous for its beaches and resorts. Tourism is the main industry in this town.

Alibag was developed in the 17th century by Shivaji's naval chief Kanhoji Angre.
